North American Trade Schools: A skilled trade school in Baltimore.

Since 1971, North American Trade Schools (NATS) has been training individuals to enter the skilled trades. What started as a diesel technician training school has grown into a full career training school teaching seven trade programs for the greater Baltimore area.

Career Training in the Skilled Trades

The programs taught on campus combine classroom training with hands-on experience in the labs. NATS’ programs have been centered around the needs of employers, so students can be confident they are learning everything they need to know entering the workforce.

Building Technology
Acquire skills in carpentry, construction, roofing, and more with this well-rounded Building Construction Technology Program. These industries are growing, and you could be prepared for your new career in just 39 weeks.
Combination Welding
In this program, you'll learn an assortment of welding techniques and applications based on ASME and AWS specifications. You will also have the opportunity to earn different welding certifications upon graduation to set you apart in the industry.
Commerical Truck Driving
In just 10 weeks, you can complete our ELDT certified truck driving program and get on the road! There's no experience required, and you can enter the industry as a confident driver. You'll be trained with both classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction.
Diesel Technology
Become a successful Diesel Technician by learning to diagnose and repair diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. With our program, you'll gain valuable training with ABS systems, engine fundamentals, rear differentials, braking systems, and much more.
Diesel Technology with CDL
Learn a variety of Diesel Technician operations such as diesel repair, diagnosis, failure analysis, and maintenance. Students will also receive Commercial Truck Driving Operations training, making them eligible to test for their Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
Electrical Technology
This curriculum is designed to provide students with an entry-level skillset in residential and commercial electrical wiring. They'll gain knowledge on motor controls (PLC), photovoltaics (solar energy), telecommunications, and more in just 39 weeks.
HRVAC Technology
Learn necessary skills to install, repair, and maintain air conditioning, heating, and residential refrigeration equipment. Students will graduate with a skillset that makes them eligible for entry-level HRVAC and HRVAC Technician positions across multiple industries.

Electrical Technology Day Class Start

Electrical Technology Day Class Start A new Electrical Technology class will begin at North American Trade School. At NATS, the electrical program covers the practice and theory of residential and commercial wiring, machine control, programmable controllers, telecommunications, and electronic control. This class is for full-time classes during the day.
